How soon should I have a dental implant after losing a tooth?

23 May 2019

An implant can only be successful if the jawbone is dense enough to support the titanium rod. The bone in the jaw begins to deteriorate quickly after a tooth is lost.

It is possible to lose as much as 40% bone width in the first year if a tooth isn’t replaced. The procedure will be less complicated and the treatment timeline much shorter if a missing tooth is replaced as soon as possible.
