Sinus Lift

You have two maxillary sinuses located on either side of your nose, just above your posterior molars. These sinuses can get in the way if you want to replace a molar with a dental implant.

They can lie so low that they leave no space in the jawbone to hold the implant. However, there is a way around this problem.

A sinus lift is a very specific type of bone graft. Pedro inserts bone into the jaw just below the sinus to increase its depth and push the sinus out of reach of the implant. Healing time is a little longer for a sinus lift than a typical bone graft, and the titanium rod can only be implanted after a gap of four to nine months.
